Rheology

A rheometer is used to measure how a material flows in reponse to applied forces. For materials with both solid and fluid characteristics this results in a description of their viscoelastic behavior. Measurements can be performed in rotational, oscillatory or temperature controlled mode in order to determine properties such as viscosity, storage and loss modulus, creep and relaxation. Processes like curing, gelation or drying can also be studied using rheology.
